I'm moving over to a new blog: http://simplystewardship.wordpress.com/. Update your feeds and pray that I'll have time to follow through on posting!
First post on the new blog:
Howdy! As I looked around the internet for frugal and stewardship blogs, I found a lot of encouragement to cook from scratch, clip coupons, and bargain hunt. What I didn't see was a discussion of why one would bother to clip coupons, make bread from scratch, and give up movie night. I also didn't see a comprehensive approach to stewardship. There's more to manage than money! On this blog, I'm going to try to stick to the “Why bother?” aspects of the simple life and leave the nuts and bolts on saving money to the pros. I also want to address some of the other limited resources we have to ration.
A little about my background. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in mathematics. That's where I got into the numbers game! From a young age, I felt called to be a missionary to East Asia. After graduation, I headed off to Heart of God's Beautiful Feet Boot Camp thinking I'd be overseas in a year. God flipped my plans all around and after three years serving with Heart of God Ministries in Oklahoma, I end up back in Texas married to Jason, another home staffer. A couple of years later, we have a new daughter, a new apartment, and new questions about what God has in store for us.
So, join me on this journey to figure things out. Think of this blog as motivation for life management from someone who's learning as she goes.
